What about getting major utility companies involved. Most have to allocate certain resources to energy conversation and certainly have lots of PR to do to justify some of their rate increases. Perhaps Oprah could help mobilize these companies. Check out their stock prices and I think we will find they can and should jump on board.

Why sit around waiting for Oprah?! This is a fantastic idea and worth jumping on! Hey Everyone:

Try calling the Lowes and Home Depots in your own areas to see if they'll discount huge purchases...like for your whole school district or maybe the entire town-hall...

At least go out and buy a six-pack of these bulbs for your own family! Have your children (all ages) get involved in changing the bulbs around the house and discuss WHY! This is a wonderful and simple family project too!

Go to the Girl and Boy scout troops and the science teachers in your public schools! Maybe they would want to spearhead a town-wide campaign!!

Thanks soooo much Mr. Luna! We're lucky to have heard of this and of you!!

Saw this on Steve Spangler's blog--I live in the NW and Puget Sound Energy has rebated compact florescents for ~4 years. This last Christmas I put 7 bulbs in for a Women's houosing project that houses formerly homeless women. I think each of us could "sponsor" a small group and "spread the light". Thanks for your blog!
